If I had to would depend on whether or not I needed the compatibility with other VMWare products. I use Parallels because the performance on local VMs seems to be just a touch better than Fusion. I use Fusion because I have both a vSphere homelab and manage an enterprise virtual infrastructure. Each test was done using the same external display to ensure it only ever used the dGPU and not the iGPU. You can locate a Parallels Desktop for Mac key used on your Mac using a Terminal command.
